It is okay to not be perfect. Seriously. I am my greatest critic and in my years of college life, I have had to learn that it is okay to not met every goal I have in my life all of the time. There are just too many amazing things that I want to do and not enough time to acheive them all! With that said, I always strive for perfection, but it’s really important to be gentle and loving with myself. The hardest thing that I have had to do, on a regular basis is forgive myself for not being perfect. It sounds wierd when I write it out, but that is my truth today. When I show up to class without reading the assigned lecture, I have to forgive myself. When I miss going to the gym, I have to forgive myself. When I stay in on a Friday night to work on job applications, I have to forgive myself (or in this case, praise myself!).
Self-love, encouragement and support are so important to my daily success in life and to my self-confidence that I can influence others in a positive way, whether that be in my friendships, in the workplace or with strangers I pass on the street.
