Networking… Just do it!

Networking is one of the most important skills/tools that a recent graduate or job seeker can posses. Apart from being competent in a particular field and qualified to work in the desired job, being able to approach and get to know the right people is an important part of finding the most fitting job opportunity.

Another important element of networking is reciprocity; though networking can help advance your career, if you can find a way to assist someone else, that will be most beneficial because it creates a positive impression and shows that you are an asset even to them.

I enjoy the article below on networking because it talks about networking tips more in depth…Enjoy!

  1. Great article to share! Networking is not only important for students, recent grads, and job seekers, but it should continue throughout your career – especially for a career in PR. I am constantly trying to attend client events, as well as other major events in my city to network with other professionals, the media, etc. You truly never know when you can help someone else or when they can help you. It’s great to chat, make a personal connection, and continue to build relationships. It’s cliche, but it truly is not always what you know, but who you know that will get the job done!
